Welcome to Student Employment at Bennington!

The Office of Career Development and Field Work Term helps students find employment in the Bennington College community both on-campus and through the Off-Campus Federal Work Study Program.

Our Mission

The Office of Career Development and Field Work Term fosters work learning experiences, reflective practices, and competency development to prepare students for personal and professional success, and to innovate and thrive in their work, communities, and lives. Beyond Field Work Term, student employment is a meaningful opportunity for student growth and our aim is to maximize student learning through work.

Student Employment Policies

All student employment-related policies can be found in the Student Employment Handbook. This handbook includes information both about federal regulations and school policies. The Student Worker homepage is where you can find all job-related information, forms, and resources.

Federal Work Study and Campus Employment

Students are permitted to hold on-campus jobs regardless of financial aid status, although Off-Campus Federal Work Study positions are restricted to students with Federal Work Study in their financial aid. If you are unsure of your aid status, or have questions about your financial aid package, you can contact the Financial Aid Office:

Our Commitment

The Office supports the College’s goals of diversity, equity, and inclusion by providing a range of part-time on- and off-campus opportunities which are accessible to all students. The College provides regular training for students’ supervisors to promote equitable hiring practices and work environments that meet student needs. The Office additionally provides professional training for students to supplement the skills they gain on the job, and prepare them for success in other roles later on.

There are a wide variety of campus jobs, and many departments rely on student workers for critical functions in the daily operation of the College. The Office of Career Development and Field Work Term helps students find campus jobs.
